Labor Day with the family

We went over to the coast to spend Labor Day with the family. The weather was a mixed bag of rain, sun, wind, and cool temperatures… about what you’d expect from the Northwest near the end of Summer! We had a great time visiting with everyone, and swimming in the ocean was a welcome treat for the boys!

In the Northwest, blue tarps and pop-ups are a must when camping… folks were prepared!

It was fun watching the little guys pick up where they left off and have fun!

It was a decent day… intermittent rain, but fairly warm, and not a whole lot of wind.

Gray and drizzly did not temper the enjoyment of the water one bit. =]

The “Tree of life” is still hanging in there…

How the tree has surviced this long with the roots exposed to the elements is anybody’s guess.

At one point while we were on the beach, a random boat washed up through the surf… something else to play with!

We don’t get to see everyone as often as we’d like, so the opportunity to catch up was very welcome!

On the way back we were treated to a rainbow… I unfortunately never saw it, but managed to catch a few glimpses of it in my phone’s camera…

The ferry ride was a fun way to end the day…

The growing lights of the city marked the end of our trip around the Olympic Peninsula. We are already making plans for next year. =]
