The weather and our schedule finally matched up, so Dad and the boys went camping at Lake Tapps, and let mom have some peace and quiet. =]
The sites are “first come first served,” and we were surprised to find a site that was right on the lake… actually there were a few to pick from!

We had the tent up pretty quickly, had everything unloaded and set up, and even took a quick pic to send to mom… then we went swimming!

After a quick swim, we got the fire going, and cooked way too much food. It was a fun evening watching the sun set, and checking out Saturn and Jupiter.

It was a great end to a great day.

The next morning, we fired up the campfire, and got ready for breakfast before heading back into the lake.

We swam across the bay, and over to a platform set up in a swimming area.

After we broke camp at the end of the day, we burned the rest of our wood… the “Wood Stick,” the piece we’d used to stoke the fire, was the last one to get used.

The last look.
The fire was about burned out, and we’d eaten the last hot dog, so we poured water on the coals, made sure they were out, and headed for home. It was a fun couple of days! We will be back here again in a few weeks.

Dad and the boys gave Mom a break and went to the lake on Friday and came home Sunday afternoon, giving Mom sometime for peace and quiet.Ic
