We took an early Saturday morning walk on a trail along the Snoqualmie river where it flowed through the John McDonald Memorial Campground. The park is primarily a Scout campground, but is open to the public when not in use.

The bridge into the campground is pretty impressive.

The trail runs along the Snoqualmie River, providing a scenic, easy walk… a perfect way to spend a nice Saturday morning.

The camp has several Yurts and other structures that let the Scouts hold meetings and classes.

A fun stop was a slide area that had a lot of lose sand and several recesses to check out.

The trail took us past where the Tolt flows into the Snoqualmie. It was very scenic, and a great place to check out a variety of birds and river critters.

The bridge on the edge of the city of Tolt, which is officially Carnation, but the locals still haven’t warmed up to the name change, made more than 50 years ago.

Before heading back, we checked out the information marker at the Bridge head. It explained the important contributions the rivers had on the early development of the region.
